Dates cake
Ingredients
Eggs 4
Maida 200gms or 2 cups
Sugar 11/2 cups
oil 1/2 cup
Dates puree 1 cup
Baking powder 1tsp
baking soda 1/2 tsp
milk 1/2 cup
vanilla essance few dgs rops
Method
1. Deseed dates and soak them in hot water for half an hour
and make a paste.
2. Sieve maida with baking powder and baking soda
two to three times.
3.In a mixing bowl break eggs and add sugar and beat well till the sugar dissolves,You can also use powdered sugar.
4. Add oil and beat again.Then add maida, mixing well.
5.Add dates puree,milk and essance and mix well.
6.Grease the baking dish with oil and dust it with little maida.
Pour the batter in it .
7.Put some sand in a pressure cooker and heat it for five minutes.
Then put the container on the sand . Remove the gasket and close the lid,No need to put the weight .Cook on slow flame for about 45 minutes.
8. In between you can open and check to see if it is done.Insert a tooth pick or a stick
in the cake if it comes out clean then its done.
9.Let the cake cool before removing it from the dish.
