BAGARA CHAWAL
Ingredients
Basmati rice 500gms
Onion 1
Green chillies 3
Tomatoes 2
Mint leaves 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic paste 2Tbsp
Coriander powder 1tsp
Cloves 2
Cardomoms 2
Cinnamom 1 inch stick
Bay leaves 2
Salt
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Coriander leaves chopped 1tbsp
Oil 1/2 cup
Ghee 2 tbsp
Method
1.Heat oil and ghee in a dish.Add bay leaves,cloves,cardomom and cinnamon. Add onions and fry till golden brown.Add chillies and ginger garlic paste.Fry till raw flavour is gone.
2.Add mint leaves,chopped tomatoes and fry for few minutes.Add coriander powder and garam masala powder and fry.
3 Measure and add water.(2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice). Add salt and chopped coriander leaves.Let the water boil.Add washed rice,mix well and let it come to boil .Cover with the lid and lower the heat.
4.After 4-5 minutes mix the rice with a spoon cover it back and let it cook till the rice is fully cooked.
5.Switch off the heat and leave the dish covered on stove for 15-20 minutes.
6.Serve hot .
